We were in the hog business for several years raising and selling FFA and 4-H projects, when we decided it was time to retire and enjoy the grandkids.
We purchased a small 25 acre farm (which wasn’t large enough for cattle), When we first moved out here. We had a nice pond, a dog, and some barn cats, but it wasn’t long before we found the need for something to help clear the brush from the land. We bought our first few goats to help with the job. Since I told everyone we lived out in the boondocks, we decided we’d name the place, “Boondock Boer Goats.”
One thing led to another and before long we found that the show goats would be the way we’d like to go. We took a drive into Missouri and met Wes and Laurie Peterson (Show Me Goats), who introduced us to their beautiful herd. That’s where we truly fell in love…..2 bucks and a few does…umm dollars later, we were in business. The bucks, Barely Legal and Steam Shovel were both Steam Roller sons. You may view their pedigree and show winnings on the Sire link.

After holding back some of our kid crop, we have put together 8 full bloods and also picked up some of the best percentage does we could possibly afford. In time, we hope to have breeding stock and wethers that will compete in the show ring. We have learned much in the two years we’ve been in the business, but know we have much more to learn.
As you read through the site, we’ll have tips and tricks we’ve picked up along the way. We’ll have links to some of our favorite goat sites, some fun shots, show photos, some goats for sale, and sales we’ll be attending.
If you see something you like, or have questions to ask, please feel free to contact us. You’ll find our email on the contact link.
We hope you find something useful, and that you will come back often. We will be adding new things as we go along.
Browse around and come back to see us soon.
